| The
marriage of Cliff Clegg and Tammy Jackson unites
the best of talent, skill and, of course, wedded bliss.
Tammy and Cliff met in
Las Vegas, Nevada in 1995, where Tammy was named CMA Modern Country
Female Vocalist of the Year and Cliff’s band was named CMA Band
of the Year. The couple exchanged business cards and met when they returned
home to discuss collaboration. This resulted in the formation of the
power-packed “Tammy Jackson Band,” which was formed to highlight
Tammy’s vocal and songwriting abilities and Cliff’s expertise
in telecaster guitar ingenuity. Combining some of New England’s
most sought after musicians, the Tammy Jackson Band took the east coast
by storm, and have consistently landed some of the most coveted venues,
including Meadowbrook, Riverfest the Hampton Casino ballroom and opening
for headline acts such as Lorrie Morgan, Alan Jackson, Pam Tillis, Charlie
Daniels Band, Redd Volkaert, Ray Price, Dick Curless, John Berry, Sammy
Kershaw, Ray Price, Big & Rich …
Individually, and in recent
years as a team, Tammy and Cliff have provided management, sound and
booking services, as well as a forceful musical front, for several successful,
high-powered, performance groups including Gold Dust, CrossOver
and of course, most recently, "The Tammy Jackson Band." The
couple's extensive accomplishments and achievements, as further illustrated
in this site, help to define the level of proficiency this duo has attained.
Cliff and Tammy write, perform, record, master and produce all of their
material at their studio - Parlor Productions - located at the couple's
Sunapee, New Hampshire home.
The couple was married in February 2000.
In addition to Tammy Jackson Band performances, Cliff and Tammy also
perform as a duo, and as a trio with the incomparable Wayne Brewer on
Pedal Steel Guitar, in an effort to promote the band, increase their
availability, improve record sales and avail themselves to more opportuities
to showcase the couple's original music. Performing as a duo/trio allows
the couple to travel extensively, and makes them affordable to smaller
but equally enjoyable and valuable venues.
The duo and trio, fronted by the guitar-wielding couple, is backed by
the full sound of bass and drums, as well as piano, mandolin and other
necessary instrumentation, all performed and recorded live by Cliff
in the studio. The authentic sound and deep cut groove of the backing
tracks (backtrax), combined with this dymamic and infinitely talented
front, leave an indelible impression. Unlike most full-sound duos/trios,
the backing tracks of bass and drums have been performed and recorded
live in the studio. The authentic sound and deep cut groove of the backing
tracks, combined with this dynamic and infinitely talented front, leave
an indelible impression on their audiences. Cliff and Tammy utilize
a state of the art, high performance Mackie PA system with full sound
and lighting.
Getting Personal
Tammy
Jackson tammy@cliffandtammy.com
Tammys father, Keith Fulton, also a singer/songwriter and guitarist,
taught his daughter to play the guitar, and introduced her to the world
of music performance at an early age. Tammy began singing at her dads
live public performances at age 6. By age 14, Tammy was penning original
tunes for presentation at public appearances of her own. Upon graduation
from high school, Tammy began attending classes at Berklee College of
Music in Boston, MA. Tammy began performing publicly again as a back-up
singer to her sister, Traci Jo Fulton and the renowned duo Merrigan
& Dailey. Tammy and Traci were offered a position as the front
for a newly forming country band, which they accepted ala, The
Fulton Sisters & CrossOver. After their well-received performance
at Jamboree In The Hills in St. Clairesville, OH, the girls were
offered several positions with groups based in the country music capital
of Wheeling, WV. With four young children at home, Tammy was not in
a position to pursue such endeavors at that time, and took over as sole
lead vocalist for CrossOver. It was during her term as the front for
CrossOver that Tammy ended up in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she met the
handsome and talented guitarist, Cliff Clegg.
Cliff Clegg cliff@cliffandtammy.com
Cliff Clegg is one of those musicians that you experience and you cant
believe what youre hearing. Having been raised on country music,
by his guitar-pickin', country-singing Dad, Cliff Clegg, Sr., as a young
teen, Cliff, Jr. worked his way in and about the Boston area club scene
with counterfeit credentials and the gift of persuasive gab. In short
time, bands of distinction began to seek the young guitarist, who at
age 14 had already mastered his instrument and was performing everything
from rock to bluegrass. Although his tenure as a full-time singer and
guitarist with bands in the Boston rock circuit provided Cliff with
the opportunity to make a living playing his guitar, he continued to
seek a platform on which he could take part in the creation and performance
of original music. It was Cliffs participation as lead guitarist
for the award-winning country group Almost Cowboyz that
took Cliff to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he was introduced to the young,
aspiring singer/songwriter, Tammy Jackson.
Wayne Brewer
Wayne was born and raised in East Millinocket, Maine. He has been performing
musical magic on the Pedal Steel Guitar since he was tall enough to
reach the strings. His playing has been repeatedly compared to that
of Buddy Emmons and Rusty Young. Wayne has traveled extensively throughout
his career with a variety of national headlining acts from rockin' country's
38 Special and Poco, to country music's own Freddie Hart and Dick Curless.
Never to miss a pedal steel convention, Wayne is well known in his field.
Wayne and Cliff met too many years ago to reveal, and have since been
connected not only musically, but as close personal friends. A recent
inductee into the NH CMA Hall of Fame, Wayne has numerous awards to
his credit.
Tammy, Cliff and Wayne
A combination of accomplished instrumentalists
and vocalists, this trio’s perfectly ranged harmonies create an
atmosphere ripe with passion and emotion.
